cozy country cabin on the lake in burnet/kingsland

We had the BEST time visiting Log Country Cove in Burnet, Texas. This little cove of approximately 40 cabins is situated between the small towns of Burnet and Kingsland. It turned out to be an absolutely PERFECT location! The drive from DFW only took about 3 hrs and 20 minutes. The Country Cove has direct waterfront access to the Colorado River and Lake LBJ, and is an easy 5-10 minute drive to shops, restaurants, and hill country activities. The specific cabin we stayed in was named The Treehouse Cabin. The name was very fitting…three floors up and up resting on log stilts. Our favorite things about The Treehouse Cabin were the large picture windows, the wrap around deck with views of the lake and canal, the fire pit, and all the outside space around the cabin for the kids to explore. The added touch of the holiday decorations made the ambience extra cozy . Keep in mind when choosing a cabin, that The Treehouse Cabin has A LOT of stairs and there is a lot of water surrounding the cabin. The weather cooperated perfectly. and we were able to maximize our time outdoors.
There was plenty to explore without ever having to leave the property. We spent a good amount of time on the back deck enjoying the views of different bird species, and watching boats or turtles go by while the kids climbed rocks. Log Country Cove created several charming spots to rest and reflect in nature such as the swings and fountains. There were a few off road trails to enjoy, and a nicely paved road to walk up and catch that perfect hill country view. The main office area and playground area were a very quick walk from our cabin, and offered putt putt, swings and slides, sand volleyball, a gaga ball pit, a nice size dock and boat ramp, and an office to rent watercraft. We watched the sun setting over the water many nights at the dock, and it did NOT disappoint! We decided last minute to rent a boat for a couple of hours, and the process of renting through the property was extremely easy. Love it when that happens!
For those times we had the itch to explore off the property, we didn’t have to drive far. There were so many things to choose from within a 10 minute drive from the cabin! I would recommend all the places listed below: *Lookout Mountain-this is a roadside stop at the top of a hill with excellent views of the river and hill country. Unnamed Road, Kingsland, TX 78639 (just off E Farm to Market Rd 1431) *Longhorn Cavern State Park- we scheduled a guided tour of the cavern and also explored the grounds around the cavern. It was cool to see a few bats pretty close up. There is an observation tower to enjoy more great views of the hill country and a good look at Falkenstein Castle located nearby. https://visitlonghorncavern.com/ *La Tequila Jalisco Mexican Restaurant-this restaurant had delicious food, good service, and good views from the nicely shaded outdoor patio. http://www.latequilarestaurant.com/ *Perissos Vineyard & Winery-this winery was casual and family friendly. It had plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The 2018 Rackers Blend is what I tried, and it was delicious! https://www.perissosvineyards.com/ This trip was super fun for everyone in our group, those that were young and young at heart. I would absolutely recommend visiting the Burnet/Kingsland area, and especially Log Country Cove. Ya’ll, it was so fun and charming that we’ve already booked our return trip! God bless Texas, and God bless the Log Country Cove Cabins! For more information or further details about the property and cabins visit https://logcountrycove.com/
